Parking restrictions at the Merrick LIRR for this year’s Merrick Fall Festival begin on Wednesday, September 12 – look for signs and please park as indicated. The fall festival is an annual fundraiser sponsored and coordinated by the volunteers of the Merrick Chamber of Commerce. The proceeds of the weekend event fund the snowflake lights in the community that you see during the holiday season – reminding you to shop locally.
This year’s annual fall festival begins on Friday, September 14 at 6p.m. with the carnival on the midway. The weekend’s opening ceremony will be at the corner of Merrick Avenue and Smith Street in the staging area featuring the Calhoun Choir and remarks by local representatives and the Chamber of Commerce.
Live music includes Alibi on Saturday at 2p.m.; Penny Lane Saturday at 4p.m. and Sunday afternoon concludes with Parade our annual fair closing act.
